MY FIRST
STUDIO ALBUM

Thank you for considering supporting Transcend, my very first full-length studio album! I am so excited to get started on this project with Plaid Dog Studios in Boston, to hear my music and lyrics be uplifted and supported by some incredible artists and be produced at radio-ready quality.

I have been writing music since I was a teenager, and over the past six years, I have written close to a hundred songs, and could produce 6-7 full LPs if I had the funds. I am choosing my top 10 songs to produce, but I can’t do it without your financial support. My mission is to create an outstanding LP that represents my experience, and that I hope will reach queer folks like me who might not have heard their experiences represented in mainstream pop music.

My collab with Plaid Dog will allow me to walk away owning all the rights to the songs, recordings and stems from our work together, which is why crowd-funding this album is the ideal path for me right now. This means, I will have the creative power to decide when and how my music reaches its audiences and I have the right to pitch or sell my album to a label in the future if I choose.

So far, my crowdfunding campaign has raised $12 600 towards our $20 500 budget, with donations from over 80 people who want to hear this music on their streaming platforms and radios. But I am hoping to find some bigger donors, like maybe you, who can act as Angel Investors/Executive Producers on this album so I can produce it at the level it deserves to reach the biggest community possible.

I believe in a transparent process with all supporters, so, if you’re ready, donate now, you can do so through the crowdfunding page, or reach out to me directly at hollycinnamonmusic@gmail.com to talk about what kind of Producer relationship you’d like to have.

In January, I recorded my first single at Plaid Dog, “Small Town Queer”.

As a queer singer-songwriter, visibility and representing my authentic voice and identity in the music industry are at the heart of my musical practice. Here are some of the songs I plan to produce with your help:

Sacred Shrine - about bodily ownership, integrity and healthy sexuality

Smile - about rape culture and cat-calling culture

Skeletons - about trauma recovery and survivor empowerment

Wishbone - about women’s bodies, pleasure and anatomical reality

Transcend - about the freedom to love who you love beyond labels

Seeing Red - confronting the stereotypes and sexualization of redheads

Boo Hoo - about being who you are, regardless of the haters

Ginny - about toxic internalized misogyny

I write to hear my own voice, and to represent my values in contemporary pop music form. I didn't see myself represented for a long time in mainstream culture, and I want to be part of a wave of performers who are collectively pushing for that visibility right now. It is also a very healing process for me, to hear my voice on the outside and process my own experiences through that empowering expression.

Here is the project budget for 11 songs.

This includes the single “Small Town Queer” we produced in January, plus a full-length LP of the new songs described above:
